This book is a relic of the forgotten era when outcast teenage speed freak Gummo punks would get hooked on metal and sell their souls to satan, Kill people and start cool bands. Now days they just pretend to be black or become Juggallos. 

This book covers the case of teenage members of the Gummo garage metal band Hatred. They actually learned to play, cut a demo with money they saved up and then sacrificed a virgin. That's commitment. These campy holllywood satanists made headlines and caused chaos and ruined lives when they chose to sacrifice an innocent young virgin to satan. The murdered cunt's parents even quixotically attempted to sue Slayer in court, naming King, Araya & Hanneman in the frivolous lawsuit. (You cant stop the power of satan!)

There's a lot of regurgitated bullshit ritual abuse propaganda throughout this book. The cliche Bob Larsen/Geraldo/Pmrc party line you see cited by christian fundamentalist groups and shitty parents trying to scapegoat responsibility for their actions.. Unlike Christianity, Metal and Satanism is primarily a reaction against and a reflection of the sick vile nature of our species and the diseased culture of humanity-- NOT the cause of it. 

Remember when Charles Manson said he just reaped what you sowed? Manson pointed out that he's not the one who made those kids runaway and seek him for shelter. There are no underground cells of satanists out to convert the spoiled seeds of America's trailer park cesspools. In reality, your precious kids are more likely to be fucked in the ass by the Catholic priest while little billy's alcoholic wife-beater daddy beats him till he's fucked up in the head and the ass and hates the world and ends up turning to metal as an outlet and a vent. 

Remember in the classic novel Painted Bird when the kid gives up on prayer after suffering so much torment at the hands of the righteous and turns to the path of evil after realizing god is dead and satan rules this world.

People who want to question why kids turn to metal need to read The Painted Bird. He chose to identify with the Russians for the same reason kids turn to metal and satan.


Jesus says in the bible that satan rules this world and all the things of this world are of satan. So your own god has already admitted that satan has doomed this world of shit. So no matter what the fuck you christer pieces of shit do you can't stop satan. So why fight for the losing team? 

Fuck your god.


Allegedly, the kids involved in the ritual murder were fans of death metal. But the only metal bands mentioned in the book are Slayer and Suicidal Tendencies. Labeling Suicidal Tendencies a satanic death metal band throws this author's credibility out the fucking window.


I had the old cassette with  "I Saw Your Mommy..." When i was a kid. It was funny but i don't get how crossover party thrash would inspire anybody to go out and kill for satan.. The author mentions that the killers were influenced heavily by Show No Mercy and Hell Awaits. Quoting the lyrics to Necrophilliac, Kill Again & listing a bunch of songs off Mercy. 

These Gummo punks while uninformed about the underground, heard Slayer, went out and read up on satanism, started a metal band, got some money together to press and distribute the demo of their band Hatred, and then went out and ritually sacrificed a virgin school girl to satan. They followed the final command.. I'd like to hear the Hatred demo. According to this book 200 copies were pressed. Someone needs to repress it as a picture disc with the crime scene photos of the virgin sacrifice on the vinyl!

Royce Casey according to this book broke the oath, snitched on his friends and joined the christian youth ministry and became a born again christer. He's probably a prison punk now. Taking it in the ass just like he did when he was an altar boy...

RANTING REVIEW AND AUTOPSY OF THE BOOK

EXTREMITY RETAINED: NOTES ON THE DEATH METAL UNDERGROUND

H.p. Lovecraft was a preeminent misanthrope and an unrepentant nihilist He scorned face to face communication and instead relied on written correspondence to keep in contact with fellow authors and like minded individuals within his field. The correlations between the Lovecraft circle and the metal underground are obvious.

The sections on recording and mastering techniques included a lot of polemic edged diatribes on the necessity for originality and innovation within the field of extreme music. That's what killed Scott Burns. Imitators seeking him out to assist in pastiche worship clone records. Instead of utilizing Scott Burns talents to actualize and flesh out their own unique aesthetic visions.

There's a noticeable loudness and raw element to Skogsberg's work you just don't hear on a Scott Burns record. Old school metal bands trash the glut of laptop handicapped modern acts using convenient digital tools to create quantize and sampled to the hilt soulless assembly line records. The only difference goes back to something i think Anton Lavey repeated about Self Censorship. 

Lavey said that when you give someone limited tools to work with you end up with vastly more creative works of art because it forces an artist to improvise and be more creative. That's how the human brain is motivated into certain modes of expression. Watch any 1980s splatter/body horror film like Evil Dead or The Thing and then watch a contemporary cgi remake. The body count's higher and the fx are more glossy and realistic. Despite that, the old school 16mm improv gore fests are still more powerful in terms of atmosphere, creativity, innovation and horror. 

The same applies to metal. It's easier to obtain a lot of releases now. What should have been left buried is now unearthed for the general populace to seek out. There's a certain beauty and feeling of hunger you get when you see a really rare cassette or vinyl. I remember seeing a photo of the Burzum - Kill Em all Demo. Alternate mixes/rehearsals of early Burzum recorded over an old dub of Metallica's Kill Em All. With Burzum scribbled over Metallica. Thats a very symbolic act of desecration and beautiful. 

I hunted down black metal and grind records on vinyl when i was in middle school and high school. I grew up on traditional hard rock, heavy metal and thrash. I saw the new metal movement as false and just an extension of the grunge i never identified with either. I got into grind, hardcore, and black metal before i got heavy into death. I used to buy a lot of the old Bovine, Slap A Ham, Deep Six, and Power Ground vinyl. That old Power Ground vinyl especially Default and Manyerisum's 7" ruled. 

I could never find that shit online. Nobody ever ripped it. That shit's just mediocre crust/hardcore to most people for sure. But dropping the needle on that and the Suppression and Cripple Bastards split lp when i was like 14 brought back the same rush and thrill i got from moving on from Ac/Dc, Priest, Maiden to Ride The Lightning.

My perspective on a lot of shit is fucked up,out of context and incongruous to older members of the scene and i remain uncompromisingly militant in my attitudes. A lot of this book is a nostalgia trip and a time capsule glimpse into dead eras of forgotten glory within extreme metal. It's not some tired cliché politically correct analysis of misogynist themes and negativity within the subculture like Purcell's book on Death Metal and the false sections on Arch Enemy in Choosing Death. 

Extremity Retained was written by an insider and a true member of the underground who interviewed people actually involved within the subculture. So you don't have the Adam Parfrey/Joel Mcivers/ sponsored politically correct atrocity exhibition exploitation of the underground into a novelty for the masses to laugh at. 

A lot of the shit about metal being dead comes from the mouths of drop outs within the underground looking for a way out that puts them in a good light.Fuck em. I don't get any support from this blog. You motherfuckers don't even write me back. I type this shit in prison and smuggle it out. I don't have fucking internet access . I buy all my music from pirate prison companies for a 1.75 a song.... I got a Schecter Omen 6 and a pocket rockit and i shred all the time . I live in a cell 23 hours a day , listening to metal, reading, and shredding. I got nothing else. That's my existence. So i live and breath metal. I don't have access to a fucking xerox machine. So i do a blog. What's your fucking excuse?

Anyway Extremity Retained is a great fucking book. Highly recommended.

Shawn The Butcher of Sirus XM Satellitte radio's Liquid Metal.

Shawn starts his pathetic show off by promoting a new children's book by some muscle freak pro wrestler...Shawn then openly promotes false metal bullshit on air that doesn't even remotely resemble anything metal. He played some shit by some band called Vein. Claiming with ignorance that it was one of the best metal releases of 2018... Vein used the exact same triggered drum machine fill/break samples used repeatedly on various DHR label releases in the late 1990s backed with downtuned bass driven nu metal breakdowns and no discernible guitars whatsoever. Let alone any actual riffs. Topped with weak hardcore vocals that sound like a castrato version of Trap Them. 

Then Shawn the Butcher promotes some band form New Zealand called Alien Weaponry. Shawn prattles to his fans about how innovative this band is. Comparing it to Sepultura.

In reality Alien Weaponry sounds like Sepultura 20 years after Beneath The Remains and Bestial Devastation. Promoting a band that sounds like a derivative rip off of the already pathetic shit Max Calavera put out near the end of Sepultura's career isn't metal. 

Alien Weaponry is simply a trend band cashing in on current american radio rock trends and singing in their native language to add a convenient novelty element to their sound in order to have a marketing gimmick. So in addition to being a false metal band, Alien Weaponry are also selling out their native tribal culture in order to sell records. Much like the race traitor tactics Max Calavera employed when he bastardized south american tribal music and found the abomination known as nu metal with the post Sepultura sellout work Calavera did with Soulfly. 

Alien Weaponry are also a disgrace to foreign metal as a whole. You have two primary types of foreign bands, those that ape and cheaply emulate the sounds of popular groups from europe and the states and those that create a unique foreign transgression of the genre evolving it beyond what the popular European and American did musically. Shawn The Butcher follows a block of false metal with some decent thrash. Slayer, Exodus and then a cheesy party thrash song by Suicidal Tendencies. As a D.J Shawn the Butcher has a responsibility to promote valid true metal bands. By actively playing and promoting false metal Shawn the Butcher is responsible for carrying on the diseased abomination that is false metal. 

Shawn The Butcher is a poser piece of shit and a prophet of false metal.

As such he deserves nothing but contempt. SHAWN THE BUTCHER FUCK OFF AND DIE!

SUICIDAL RAP ORGY - GENITAL WARFARE

Affiliates of the Australian harsh noise/circuit bent shitnoise underground acts Doomation, Evil Moisture, Rancid Shitwank and Anal Spermshit are responsible for this abomination. This joke record is like Sutcliffe Jugend crossed with The Revolting Cocks or Costes getting high on pcp with the Meat Shits. Porno gore grind gross out lyrics performed as mock hip hop atop glitchy horrorcore beats made out of circuit bent casios and nintendo samples.. Like The Beastie Boys on bathsalts possessed by the evil ghost of Seth from Anal Cunt with a fucking Australian accent. I don't know if this is a joke or what the hell the intent was.

Its awful sick deranged juvenile delinquent insanity bottom line. A vile prurient depraved satire of Juggallo & SkR horrorcore... Noise fanatics beating them at their own game. Half the tracks end with them just yelling and screaming violently into the microphone like a bad boombox grindcore demo by a 14 year old garage band. They change up the formula quite a bit by having some crazy bitch screaming about torturing herself and cutting off your head and sticking it up her own cunt after she rapes your cat and shits in your mouth... So you don't have the cliché misogynist slapstick wifebeater cheese typical of joke music like this. Plus you can hear everything they're saying atop catchy beats. Its all discernible. 

Porno gore grind isn't really offensive beyond the track titles and album covers. This is just all around vile, nasty and straight shit....This is perfect shitcore to put on to torture people and throw on mixtapes to annoy & nauseate even the most jaded or throw on in a tour van.

SISSY SPACEK - SPIRANT

One of the overrated hacks of hipster experimental shits out another collaboration. This sounds like Pain Killer recorded to a cassette through a shitty mic and a distortion pedal with some misc. junk noise going on in the background. Just buy Pain Killer's record or An Untroublesome Defenselessness. Far superior and successful examples of what this record fails at. Koji Haino is god. Wiese is a false prophet!

SARCAFAGO - DIE HARD....

Collection of all their cult demos. Shredding trashcan drums howling growling vocals with random thrash screams. Primitive as fuck 'trying to run before you can walk' guitars built more around a crazed violent urge to shred as fast as possible then anything resembling riffs let alone proper technique . These maniacs weren't trying to play for any specific style, they were just trying to play as fast as possible and sound as evil as possible..

OBLITERATION - CENTOPATH OBSCURE

I was excited when this long awaited third album by Obliteration came out. Norway's contributions to death metal are somewhat underrated and overshadowed by the spectre of black metal.

Blood Red Throne kill it but they sound more like they're from Canada or New York not Norway. 

Obliteration combines the blackened death doom driven occultism of The Magus & Soulside Journey with a hellish dose of Autopsy and some further acts of hell-hammering. satanic cruelty that sound like Nihilist covering Black Sabbath. This band represents trve kvlt black death doom ritval svpremacy. Dominating the lesser mortals putting out derivative pastiches or soul less triggered to death pro tools sample collages posing as real metal albums. Edited so much they can't even play live without blowing their fucking cover.... Obliteration is one of the best extreme metal bands out there. Keeping it traditional while remaining fiercely innovative & original.

ANTIDEMON - SATANICHAOS

False shit from a band of xian scum. Book this band for a show in a remote local venue and sacrifice them all to satan. They all deserve to be disemboweled and dismembered with a chainsaw. So kill them all for the glory of satan. If they ever tour; it'd be a great target for a mass shooting...

DEMON HUNTER - STORM THE GATES OF HELL

If you ever see this band at a show or any band wearing their merch go outside during their set. Open up the hood of their van. Bust the fuel rail. Disconnect the spark plug. Jam the sparkplug ontop of the busted fuel rail. Wait for the band members to start the tour van after the show and watch the posers die screaming. Burning alive. And throw the horns up from some truly evil brutal shit.

CRIPPLE BASTARDS - LA FINE CRESCE DA DENTRO

Their 12" split with Suppression was one of the first grind records i heard. I got that record when i was like 14.This is less deranged as their other records. Desperately Insensitive had kind of a Being And Nothing sound to it. This steps back towards a more raw hardcore sound. You can hear some subtle metal influences that sound incongruously melodic compared to what you'd expect from them... 

It's decent but you cant really improve on Your Lies In Check.

This is kind of a Circle The Wagons type of career move.

FLOWER TRAVELIN' BAND - MAKEUP

The debut lp by Flower Travelin Band has one of the greatest covers of Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath. They turned Iommi's iconic genre defining riffs into a slow crushing proto drone metal ritual decades before the existence of Boris and Burning Witch...

Psychedelic sludge that boiled the brains of the chosen. Avant psychotic garage freakouts.... True improv acid rock... Imagine Syd Barret's reanimated corpse jamming with MC5 on Bathsalts... 

Makeup is a collection of mid 1970s live recordings and studio outtakes. Its not as definitive or fucked up as the debut or the Anywhere LP but its still a great record.

CRYPTOPSY- THE BEST OF US BLEED

Nobody will ever kill shit on a guitar better then the true shred god Mizutani Takashi!

Most tech death is just a boring reverse engineered rehash of what Joe Stump,Cacophony & Racer X mastered in the 80s mixed with triggered blasts & hardcore vocals & mosh breakdowns. In the end classics like 7 Churches & Scream Bloody Gore kill their vain try hard attempts to reinvent the wheel. Cryptopsy should have just replaced Lord Worm with an alto sax player and gone instrumental. Pain Killer shreds everything Cryptopsy tried to do without Lord Worm...This is a greatest hits collection along with some live tracks basically. They should have just deluxe reissued None So Vile and Blasphemy Made Flesh alongside live/demo material. Instead of the moshtastic slam shit off Unspoken King. Among other weak borderline false tracks.
Yea the playing was tight but the triggered digital production and emo semen metalcore vocals ruins it. But i guess listening to garbage like Silence Your Tyrants alongside Lord Worm killing it , reminds everybody of how brutal Lord Worm was.. The bro vocalist on Whisper Supremacy sounded like a repressed closet queer Nyhc /F.S.U straight edge muscle freak having a roid rage tantrum.... Unspoken King was just Cold Lake & HeartWork for the millenial tech death generation of false losers that got into metal by way of Slipknot....
This band combined hyper brutality with manic time changes and a haunting evil ambiance of profound morbidity backed by some memorable solos. Like the one on Abigor. A lot of the bands influenced by this act as well as their work just took the speed and none of the substance. On later records a lot of this band's shit sounded like sped up nu metal with more time changes and the clean radio verse sing along sections edited out.

DIVISION BLACK NOISE - EXILED BY THE LIGHT 
One of the best traditional black metal albums iv heard recently.It has a lot of the dynamics and technique of old school black thrash. A lot of actual riffs,chord progressions and solos. While still remaining primitive and lofi as hell. It has elements of dsbm in the atmospheric cold production but its layered atop blast beats and all the lyrics are satanic. Summoning the Horned God is the best song on here. Discernible anthemic ritualistic vocals.

AKITSA - CREDO
Layers of guitar noise collaged together into harrowing walls of chaos invoking visions of pure misanthropy. Abstract sound sculptures painted with the remains of the 2nd wave. The vile sound of hordes of lesser dsbm/blackgaze acts being tortured to death in the deepest abysses of hell. There are some break downs and clean sections and deviations from form. But as a whole this is a top tier effort from one of my favorite acts.

VULGAR PIGEONS - IMPERIALISM
Boring failed attempt to sound like Repulsion & early Extreme Noise Terror. Results in a drunken mix of crust and grindcore. There are some good high end tormented shrieking vocals fighting to be heard above the blast beats accented by some death grunts & growls. Not much gurgle and sludge to be found on this record. This would benefit from more misanthropic lyrics. The short length of most of these songs is likely the result of there inability to shred like Gorgasm.. I'm unsure whether the song Bullet Belt Committee is satirical or serious...Profane Existence hippies trying to play metal...

JUDAS ISCARIOT - AN ANCIENT STARRY SKY
This is great stuff. Violent shredding primitive black metal assault. Transylvanian Hunger meets Under the Sign of Hell with some Vlad Tepes/Mutiilation dissonance and atmosphere. There's very few detours into ringing arpeggio breakdowns and this is free of any postmetal blackgaze detrius. Just pure lofi black metal. The distortion on the drums sounds a little like a digital distortion effect applied in post processing to artificially degrade the drum sound. Like he was trying too hard to make this sound like shit. But not everybody has Skogsberg's magic or Bathory's garage....

I used to record shit out in the woods. Not for Kvlt reasons, i was too broke to afford a practice space. You can't record good shrieking power electronics/black metal vocals in an apartment without scaring the neighbors and summoning law enforcement. So portable recording equipment and the woods is necessary.

This is very likely part of the reason you hear so much lazy bedroom black metal where the vocalist is just cupping and whisper hissing into a mic with the gain jacked up through distortion.
No risk of waking the neighbors or tearing your throat.

Same can be said of all the burping growling pitch shifter shit on porno gore grind gurgle records...
It's soulless. It's lazy. And you know if they got lazier and just quit bothering to even use guitars it would actually sound better: Someone should just buy a chainsaw and stick a couple microphones on it, feed a pig some laxatives, stick the chainsaw up its ass, you got the shitting pig noise, the chainsaw hacking through the pig rectum, and the squealing screaming pig... Low end growling vocals,guitar shredding and your high pitched lead vocals. beat the corpse with a hammer for the drum track. Then you got the most brutal sounding gore grind track ever! And a nice mess you can use for album covers & packaging... If you can't find any pigs to slaughter; then find a Juggallo or anybody wearing a Mortification shirt. They Deserve it.

Or better yet just do it on-stage at Milwaukee Metal Fest.....


"CHAINSAW RECTAL INSERTION DISEMBOWELMENT ON A TIED-UP JUGGALLO" is also a great song title.

DESECRATING THE MYTH OF THE SATANIC BIBLE:

Centroclines, posers and other varying degrees of herd minded cattle will name drop The Satanic Bible under the false assumption that it has something to do with evil and satanism..Despite lacking any functional understanding of the reality of satanism; the sheep feel the need to prattle their uninformed esoteric opinions about things beyond their comprehension. The corporations that dictate the commercial tastes of the masses give them the only knowledge and culture their feeble kind will ever have.

The Satanic Bible was first published in the late 1960s by a mass market publisher cashing in on the 60s counterculture.

Anton Lavey pretended to be a former circus performer and a crime scene photographer. The biographical details that gave Lavey a mythical aura to heighten his persona are all bullshit.

Stephen Flowers in his study on Left Hand Path traditions tried to independently verify the biographical details in Blanche Barton's book on Lavey's life and proved empirically most of it was manufactured for propaganda purposes to sell more books and Church of Satan membership cards.

You can simply find a copy of the Satanic Bible at every mall in America and then pay a $100 dollars for a red plastic card that says you're an official member of the Church Of Satan.

Similar to how diploma mills operate.

Its all a completely aboveground corporate enterprise.

There's nothing clandestine or esoteric about the practices and traditions of the COS at all.
The Satanic Bible was primarily plagiarized word for word from Might is Right as well as various works by Ayn Rand. Dressed up with imagery and ersatz symbolism stolen from campy horror films,The Qaballah, and Mark Twain's Mysterious Stranger & Letters from the Earth. The Satanic Bible is simply new age libertarianist jewish mysticism posing as social darwinism meshed up crudely with a sophomoric bastardization of objectivism...

It has a catchy title and spooky symbols and to the uninformed it seems dangerous and subversive.
The danger and subversive nature of The Satanic Bible has been further overrated by christian fundamentalist groups, right wing politicians, schizo housewives and talk show hosts.

The Church Of Satan was started in San Francisco during the height of the hippy bohemian cesspool era of San Francisco. It fed parasitically off the trendiness of this inane false counterculture. With Halloween haunted house style cheesy rituals featuring hot naked chicks and cheesy fake plastic devil horns.

The Church of Satan will portray all this role playing camp and then when confronted about it; like Sharp Skins; get up on their soapbox and prattle about how they're not really evil. They claim they're misunderstood and more righteous and good than christians.

There'ss nothing at all satanic in the Satanic Bible despite its name. There's nothing about being truly evil in the Satanic Bible. Lavey didn't even believe in satan. He saw satan as a metaphorical concept not an anthropomorphic deity. Lavey used satan as a convenient mascot to sell his brand of libertarian humanist philosophy. Ripping off and desecrating the works of Crowley, Rand and Redbeard. Lavey's teaching focused on the immanent side of the left hand path. Lavey taught his flock to cultivate an inner darkness for the same reasons a closeted homo sexual cultivates his self loathing.The C.o.S persists in disrespectfully using the name of satan, his image and likeness even though these posers do not actually believe in satan. Let alone the Ancient ones. They're not working against the cosmic creator to bring about chaos. They're just hustlers out to make money off the ignorant masses by plagiarizing great philosophers and occultists. The same way false metal bands water down extreme metal into radio friendly products.

If an individual namedrops the Satanic Bible in an effort to shock and impress , this individual is a false satanist. The Satanic Bible is an icon of pop culture. Hyped by major label rock stars in glossy magazines and sold to kids at the mall looking for a cheap convenient way to freak out their parents.
Possession of The Satanic Bible and espousing the false belief that its a dangerous and subversive book are the signs of the ignorant and false.Its the sign of nazarene sheep dressing themselves in the stolen skin of wolves.

We need to recognize the fact that a church is a church.

All churches need to be burned down to the ground.

The Church of Satan is a for profit enterprise designed to hustle money from the masses in a traitorous symbiotic relationship with the christian right.

Its not satanic.

Its not evil

Its a church.
