SLAYER - D.X. FERRIS

Far better then Mciver's book on Slayer.

This updated edition covers Repentless and is a full length sequel to Ferris' seminal analysis of Reign In Blood.

Ferris wrote a fairly informative, in-depth and well researched book on Slayer. It is powerful insight on the most dedicated, legit and committed of the big four. Slayer kills all.

That statement doesn’t need to be expanded upon, defended, or explained any further.

Whatever the fuck you want to say about Slayer and later failed experiments to keep active, those mediocre later albums were still better then any other major label metal release of that decade. Slayer are gods of metal and are above the laws of man and thus above all scene politics.

This book reminds us of why Slayer kills all such as Jeff Hanneman putting himself at greater risk of death by refusing to get his arm amputated so he could still shred. This book is highly recommended and essential.

The only complaint I have is when Ferris starts voicing his ambivalent personal opinions about modern metal. Ferris has worked for Decibel.

Ferris make logically incorrect statements like calling Slipknot "The truest Nu Metal" Listening to and supporting the "The Truest Nu Metal" is like eating the least rotten food out of the dumpster or fucking the least infected crackwhore.

What's the fucking point?

Also Nu metal shouldn’t be dignified with the classification of Nu Metal. Its false metal pure and simple. Decibel lost most of its integrity when they chose to call Codex Obscurum humorless and elitist. Criticizing, instead of supporting, a dedicated group of metalheads that put in the ardent work to write, layout, finance and distribute a DIY print zine in this ear is as false as it gets.

Lamestream rock journalists that like to pretend they’re better metalheads because their unbiased approach makes them more open minded. But in most cases that just makes more sympathetic to weak poser shit.

In a lot of cases, these journalists perpetuate the poser trends by legitimizing them in print. Instead of covering the new Deathhammer, Mitochondrion etc album, they'd rather give coverage to whatever trendy poser shit the majors have released lately.

When you’re running a corporate sponsored glossy bar-coded magazine, You have to answer to people outside of the metal underground. You don’t have the full creative license to say what you want and you have to pander to your corporate sponsors… So you don’t go out of business.

Because there are financial concerns involved that undermine the integrity of the writers for these magazines. If you’re DIY and financing it and distributing it yourself, your opinions hold more weight and are more credible. Untainted by major label coercion.

BIBLE OF BUTCHERY THE OFFICAL BIOGRAPHY OF.CANNIBAL CORPSE

This book basically consists of extended interviews with the band compiled by McIver in a Please Kill Me -esque fashion.

McIver is one of those tourist dilettantes that, despite being on the surface a dedicated metalhead, feels the need to use comedic relief,hipster irony and pedantic rationalizations to justify and apologize to the herd for his interest in metal.

The type of posturing public relations weekend warrior asshole that instead of embracing his outsider status feels the need to ensure the herd that metalheads are really normal people and safe...

Fuck off and die with that cowardly shit.

Standing pride against the world of shit is an integral part of being a metalhead and the guilty have no pride.

This bio has no interviews or input from Chris Barnes for whatever reason...

The first four Cannibal Corpse albums were brutal classics of death metal that were still rooted in thrash and retained a degree of grind to it.

The unapologetic gore obsessed misanthropic splatter lyrics set a cult standard.

After Alex Webster took over writing the lyrics for Cannibal Corpse albums they suffered significantly in quality.

The later stuff never crossed over

It evolved interestingly in terms of technique.

Cannibal Corpse remained the only above-ground extreme metal band to chart and remains one of the only extreme metal bands to achieve a high degree of commercial success without selling out.

Cannibal Corpse never put out a Cold Lake or a Heartwork. 

That's honorable especially considering the fact that most bands lose it after four albums then they peak and go rot and roll or whatever the fuck.

This bio has a lot of interesting history of the band and is well worth reading.

Despite Mcivers unfortunate involvement and the lack of input from Barnes.

This book is a relic of the forgotten era when outcast teenage speed freak Gummo punks would get hooked on metal and sell their souls to satan, Kill people and start cool bands. Now days they just pretend to be black or become Juggallos. 

This book covers the case of teenage members of the Gummo garage metal band Hatred. They actually learned to play, cut a demo with money they saved up and then sacrificed a virgin. That's commitment. These campy holllywood satanists made headlines and caused chaos and ruined lives when they chose to sacrifice an innocent young virgin to satan. The murdered cunt's parents even quixotically attempted to sue Slayer in court, naming King, Araya & Hanneman in the frivolous lawsuit. (You cant stop the power of satan!)

There's a lot of regurgitated bullshit ritual abuse propaganda throughout this book. The cliche Bob Larsen/Geraldo/Pmrc party line you see cited by christian fundamentalist groups and shitty parents trying to scapegoat responsibility for their actions.. Unlike Christianity, Metal and Satanism is primarily a reaction against and a reflection of the sick vile nature of our species and the diseased culture of humanity-- NOT the cause of it. 

Remember when Charles Manson said he just reaped what you sowed? Manson pointed out that he's not the one who made those kids runaway and seek him for shelter. There are no underground cells of satanists out to convert the spoiled seeds of America's trailer park cesspools. In reality, your precious kids are more likely to be fucked in the ass by the Catholic priest while little billy's alcoholic wife-beater daddy beats him till he's fucked up in the head and the ass and hates the world and ends up turning to metal as an outlet and a vent. 

Remember in the classic novel Painted Bird when the kid gives up on prayer after suffering so much torment at the hands of the righteous and turns to the path of evil after realizing god is dead and satan rules this world.

People who want to question why kids turn to metal need to read The Painted Bird. He chose to identify with the Russians for the same reason kids turn to metal and satan.


Jesus says in the bible that satan rules this world and all the things of this world are of satan. So your own god has already admitted that satan has doomed this world of shit. So no matter what the fuck you christer pieces of shit do you can't stop satan. So why fight for the losing team? 

Fuck your god.


Allegedly, the kids involved in the ritual murder were fans of death metal. But the only metal bands mentioned in the book are Slayer and Suicidal Tendencies. Labeling Suicidal Tendencies a satanic death metal band throws this author's credibility out the fucking window.


I had the old cassette with  "I Saw Your Mommy..." When i was a kid. It was funny but i don't get how crossover party thrash would inspire anybody to go out and kill for satan.. The author mentions that the killers were influenced heavily by Show No Mercy and Hell Awaits. Quoting the lyrics to Necrophilliac, Kill Again & listing a bunch of songs off Mercy. 

These Gummo punks while uninformed about the underground, heard Slayer, went out and read up on satanism, started a metal band, got some money together to press and distribute the demo of their band Hatred, and then went out and ritually sacrificed a virgin school girl to satan. They followed the final command.. I'd like to hear the Hatred demo. According to this book 200 copies were pressed. Someone needs to repress it as a picture disc with the crime scene photos of the virgin sacrifice on the vinyl!

Royce Casey according to this book broke the oath, snitched on his friends and joined the christian youth ministry and became a born again christer. He's probably a prison punk now. Taking it in the ass just like he did when he was an altar boy...

Satan laughs as you eternally rot Royce Casey!.

BY NOTHINGISTTRUEIn 96, Feral House published The Making of A Serial Killer by Danny Rolling,the Gainsville Florida rapist killer. Rolling is the poor man's Richard Speck....Rolling became born again and his killings were the disorganized schizoaffective confused acts of a sheep making a fumbling attempt at being a wolf. Rolling when locked up went back to being a good christian and scapegoats responsibility for his crimes on a demonic entity he calls Gemini. He blames the demon he calls Gemini , because he cant own up to what he did or take pride in his kills...

It's interesting how Slayer has a song called Gemini on their 96 album Undisputed Attitude. Codex Obscurum did a track by track review of the NuSlayer album Repentless and for the most part... told it like it is. Being a completist separates the elite from the false, but in a lot of cases, it becomes a masochistic endurance test centered around individuals who cant let go of a beloved band and accept their death, and instead they close their eyes and fuck a corpse....

I fail to see the ability to make a meal out of shit as a unique and valuable skill, when there's a lot better things to eat out there...Slayer stated that there is a bunch of unreleased Jeff Hanneman session material. Which they chose to shelf and recorded Repentless instead. The cover of Repentless has a pentagram covered up by Christ's face as well as an image of a crucifixion that's not inverted. In addition to the clandestine christian overtones on the cover of this album, it's released on Nuclear Blast. Nuclear Blast is the same label responsible for releasing a lot of material by the infamous false christian metal band Mortification. Mortification is openly christian and false, having gone so far as to record tributes to the christian hair metal band Rez.You can't be at war with christ and false metal if you're sheltering, clothing, feeding and dwelling amongst troops of the enemy.

In times of war, that's called being a traitor. At least when Cavalera sold out to the enemy he quit recording as Sepultura....The first three Slayer albums were groundbreaking classics that laid the foundations for a lot of powerful metal acts. Like Sepultura The underground acts directly influenced by Slayer's early work are ultimately more relevant and powerful then most of what Slayer has done since the masterpieces they put out in the 1980s. You can argue that Slayer was more metal in the 90s than Metallica, but that's not saying much.

When there's a whole underground of innovative extreme acts struggling for the recognition they deserve, transgressivley advancing extreme music in new directions, why waste your fucking time promoting an overrated major label act that's pretty much just treading water at this point?

Dissection's cover of Antichrist off Shown No Mercy is also better than the original, because of the sincerity and honesty Dissection puts behind the lyrics. Unlike Slayer, Dissection had a lifelong uncompromising commitment to satan. Slayer shouldn't get a pass for selling out and becoming traitors just because they put out 3 classic groundbreaking albums and an ep in the eighties. Also Possessed's Seven Churches came out in 85, and the first 3 Bathory albums were released between 84&85. Reign in Blood wasn't released until 1986.

A lot of Slayer's fanbase also consists of weekend warrior half stepping posers that buy Slayer products because it's a convenient and accessible brand name. Its not too extreme and they're almost major label rock stars, and they have discernible lyrics . Perfect for the type of lame sheep that have a pathetic need to pretend to appreciate extreme heavy music but in reality can't handle anything beyond NWOBHM, Butt metal, and clean major label melodic thrash. The type of stupid motherfuckers that hate live recordings, because raw uncompressed guitars don't sound right to cattle accustomed to the sugar coated defanged tones of radio friendly corporate pop music. These people are frightened by anything with full dynamic range....Acts like Lamb of God, Amon  Amarth and most of what the high priestess of false metal Full metal jackie plays on her radio show panders to this mass market demographic of cascadian hipsters & Juggallos. All that shit is as incorrigibly useless, defective and bereft of meaning as earplugs, condoms, decaf coffee, and non alcoholic beer.
