FOR WOMEN SEEKING EQUALITY IS LIKE ASKING FOR THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A SOCIETY WHICH IS CONSPIRING AGAINST YOU. IT IMPLIES THE RECOGNITION OF A SYSTEM BASED ON SUPERIORITY AND EXCLUSION.

DEMANDING A PLACE NEXT TO THE PEOPLE WHOSE VALUES YOU OBJECT TO DEFEATS YOUR PURPOSE!

WHAT GETS ACHIEVED BY PRODUCING SEGREGATED EVENTS IN ORDER TO MAKE WOMEN OR MINORITIES MORE VISIBLE IN ALTERNATIVE MUSIC?

I WANT TO BELIEVE THAT WOMEN ARE DOING EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT IN ALTERNATIVE MUSIC. IF THERE IS ONE THING WE LEARN FROM MINUTE TO MINUTE SUBJUGATION TO PERVERTED PATRIARCHY ,IT IS THAT IN ORDER TO SURVIVE YOU HAVE TO BANISH THE IDEA OF YOURSELF AS VICTIM ALTOGETHER. OTHERWISE YOU WILL DEFEAT YOURSELF BEFORE YOU EVEN GET STARTED.

Ever notice Derketa isnt mentioned in Choosing Death? Arch Enemy pretends great bands like Derketa don't exist because it ruins their marketing gimmick. Arch Enemy's token inclusion in Choosing Death was an apologist disclaimer to quiet the author's guilt and self loathing over the themes of a lot of grind & death metal,and an attempt to repackage the subversive subject matter into something more acceptable to the common herd. That's bullshit. 

Same thing was done with Fight Your Own War, the headpress book on Power electronics with its inclusion of Brut. I love Rosemary Malign's work. She is one of the preeminent artists working within extreme music. She was like a sister to me and she was always more legit, extreme and uncompromising then most the male artists in the power electronics scene. She achieved her status through the strength of her performances and the quality of her work. Not from bitching in zines about discrimination and gender politics to extort and blackmail losers into praising her work to prevent being labeled misogynists.

Too many women within extreme music ostracize themselves and become the target of contempt when they spend more fucking time criticizing and challenging the themes of other artists and trying to make themselves into victims and martyrs instead of just focusing on their art and putting out good records and strong live performances. 

In a lot of cases you have women who go into extreme metal and power electronics and don't take it seriously. They troll these scenes talking shit and trying to incite controversy so they can lash back and self-righteously sit upon the throne of victimhood and call everyone who dissents a sexist pig. It's a game to them. That's all. It's trolling from trolls who know that they can play the misogynist trump card if they're called on their shit. And the reasons those people are hated has nothing to do with gender.

This is probably part of the reason you see Amalie Brunn trying to market her work as Black Metal knowing by self identifying as a Black Metal musician shes putting a target on her back. If this wasn't the case she would simply market her work towards the Goth/Neofolk scene instead who would be far more accepting and appreciative of her work. My hatred of these type of people has nothing to do with misogynist ignorance. 

Valerie Solanas is one of my favorite writers. I don't agree with a lot of it , but her prose style has had a very obvious influence on my own writings. Ayn Rand's work which I've been reading since i was 11, has had a very powerful and significant influence on my life. Ayn Rand's work had a significant influence on Laveyian Satanism and the immanent side of the left hand path. As much as Ragnar Redbeard's Might Is Right. 

One of the interesting things about Valerie Solanas is Faust killed a gay man and people call him a homophobe for it and trying to stop him from drumming at fests. Solanas attempted to assassinate a vastly influential gay artist who was an inspiration to a lot of people ... And was called the "First outstanding champion of women's rights" by N.O.W who represented her at trial. These inconsistent and hypocritical double standards are fucked up.

Dickens had somewhat of an agenda, to make the masses aware of the cruel conditions in london's slums and make them aware of the plight of the disenfranchised . but he didn't go far enough in his fiction. Our modern post industrial society has further degenerated since that period.

With the Smoke Ghost, Leiber made that point. The Dickensian ghosts are dead and obsolete. Unable to enact any force in our world at this point. It also depicts a submission to the cosmic forces, as mankind inevitably bound in ruin. Unable to listen to reason or see reality for what it is. You have to accept the necessary evil and swallow it. Look at the ending to Leiber's Conjure Wife. Its not some "Last Exorcism" type formulaic hackwork where the skeptic non believer becomes a believer.

No. He acquiesces to his wife's lunacy and supernatural belif system for the same reason the protagonist of Smoke Ghosts bows before the ghost. For the same reasons Leiber himself, took the path of horror fiction after Hiroshima, Instead of writing luddite cautionary scifi about the evils of advanced technology .

Similarly a lot of Andrew Vachss work shines a mirror on the ugly side of humanity. He spits in the faces of those sheep looking for authentic crime fiction that's real, By giving them something so real it pretty much ceases to be escapist fiction and becomes a Ketchum-esque beast that fits the standards of aesthetic terrorism as much as it does those of the detective novel.

I like it because the characters are human and not simply cardboard cutouts going through the motions . I don't give a shit about authors that write crime fiction without having any actual experience with the subject matter beyond research and hollywood pandering to a reader demographic of fellow tourists and housewives that have also never lived near the gutter and seen beneath the mask, and beyond the veil.

Like Carpenter's film They Live. Its the difference between those who have put on the sunglasses and those who just go through the motions. Blindly ignorant of what humanity is really all about. Also a lot of these lesser crime fiction hacks are just mining the darkside of human nature in cheaply exploitative fashion in order to have fodder for a piece of cheap entertainment. Junkfood for the masses. Theirs no point in any of it. Its just shit, .

I've lived through those types of hells and there's no fucking tragic martyrdom to any of it. No misunderstood glory in it.. Iv lived with a hooker that shot crystal meth every day in front of me and told me all the war stories about her life on the street and why she did what she did. She wasn't forced into it or controlled. She openly admitted to being cheap and enjoyed the degradation. But of course humanity needs to compartmentalize there evils and have a scapegoat to make sense of the chaos, turn it into something routine. But that aint reality. She wasnt pimped out . Id give her money so she wouldn't have to trick and she would still go out and do it regardless. 

And there are people like myself who fuck there lives over trying to save people who don't want to be saved and then they wake up.. And give up and move on. Like i did with Rio. And the one before Rio. Id get put in jail on domestic violence, get released homeless with no financial support. So id have to go back to living with Angie. She'd burn me with cigarettes,bite me, We'd get drunk and get all fucked up, the only safe word was the trip to the e.r. And the common person on the street cant understand that shit. They think no would willingly live that way of their own free will. So we get demonized and no contact orders placed on us .By people who think they could fucking save us from ourselves. As if there was any fucking point at all to our existence.
